I am a 278lb. woman who has been on the weight loss trail for quite some time. I have also been looking for ways to enhance the tedious task of walking. After reading the description of these shoes and doing a little research (of course I did...look at the price!) I took the bait. This was truely a wise purchase. Upon opening the box I said, "ok, so they're round bottom shoes that look like tires at the bottom." But my first walking experience with them was incredible! For the first time ever the weight of my body felt evenly balanced. When walking with an average pair of Reeboks or Nikes, I my body would still wobble a bit and I'd need to tap or lightly push the wall of the outer lane (on an inside track)to keep balanced. Or I'd have to concentrate on keeping my feet and ankles straight and forward because they'd tend to land outward or inward with every other step. But these shoes corrected all of that so I could keep my pace and increase it! Not only that but the pain I would usually feel in my lower back went to where it should be, my calves and thighs.
